OVERVIEW

The Vergez Blanchard L Indispensable Brass Knife is as Indispensable as its name. Once you try this knife you won t want to use anything else to cut your leather. It has really nice ergonomics and fits the hand very well. The knife also has a very solid feel with a nice flat top edge to press your finger against, allowing you to get very precise cutting results. Compared to an Xacto knife these blades don t bend when cutting, they stay sharp 2-3 times longer and quickly re-sharpen with a strop. 

The solid brass housing has 2 screws that are easily undone to interchange blades or adjust to the length you prefer.

 

We recommend when purchasing this knife to invest a little time in learning how to sharpen them past factory blade sharpness. The blade comes fairly sharp but with a few minutes on a sharpening stone or sandpaper it will come alive and cut through thick leather like butter. There are great youtube videos that show basics of sharpening and keeping your knives as sharp as possible. This new skill will pay dividends in giving you cleaner, more effortless cuts. 

We have an upgraded Chartermade blade only option available as well. The Right handed option has the bevel on the left side and Left handed version a has the blade on the left side. The steel used on this blade has better edge retention and the blade comes sharp and ready to use out of the box in comparison to the Blanchard blade  

Please note:  The blade will come with the tip shaved down. This is how they arrive to us from Vergez Blanchard who has made the decision to flatten the tip to prevent it from breaking on its own.
